Alliance for Changes Organizes People's Assembly

A meeting of the presidents of opposition parties in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska was held in Banja Luka. The meeting was attended by Vukota Govedarica, president of SDS, Branislav Borenović, president of PDP, Dragan Čavić, president of NDP, Milanko Mihajilica, president of SRS RS, and Goran Đorđić, president of NS.

As announced by the Serb Democratic Party, in light of the regime's constant disrespect for the constitution and laws of Republika Srpska, and especially in light of the events of the last session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, the following was concluded:

1. According to the opinion of legal experts, we believe there are serious arguments based on which the last session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, with the exclusive presence of deputies from regime parties and part of the Homeland coalition, can be considered illegal and unconstitutional. In the sense of the foregoing, we are undertaking appropriate legal actions to prove our claim and annul all decisions and conclusions from the illegal session.

2. We demand full legal and political responsibility and resignations of those responsible for the illegal and unconstitutional use of armed police forces in the National Assembly, and in this regard, we will officially address the President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nedeljko Čubrilović, and the Minister of Internal Affairs in the Government of Republika Srpska, Dragan Lukač, to explain who, on what basis, and why brought armed police officers with live ammunition into the National Assembly. By this act, the political freedoms and civil rights of opposition party MPs were brutally taken away, and the exercise of their constitutional role was prevented.

3. The People's Assembly will be held continuously throughout Republika Srpska with the aim of informing citizens about the true situation in Republika Srpska and about the regime that is constantly undermining the foundations of Republika Srpska.
We invite all free citizens, representatives of the non-governmental sector, media, representatives of the academic community, representatives of veterans' associations, trade unions, and other organizations in Republika Srpska to attend the People's Assembly of Republika Srpska tonight, September 25, 2017, at Banski Dvor in Banja Luka, starting at 7 PM, according to the SDS announcement.
