Alliance outraged at head of BiH diplomacy: Konaković blocked entrance to his press conference for a 100% war invalid and a "Golden Lily"

(Patria) - We are surprised by the attitude of the top officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of BiH towards a patriot and defender of our country, which is why we decided to react to this inhumane gesture by the MFA towards a severely disabled war veteran, the Alliance of War Veterans with Disabilities of Central Bosnia Canton announced today.

"The very idea of blocking entry into the MFA building and to his workplace, for a 100% war invalid (who moves with the help of a wheelchair) and who is the recipient of the highest wartime recognition, the Golden Lily, deserves all condemnation.

The fact that this was done for the press conference of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Elmedin Konaković, in order to prevent Admir Atović, a Golden Lily recipient and 100% war invalid, from entering it, speaks volumes about the true attitude of the said minister towards the people and heroes of this country, who invested their health and body parts into its foundations.



Based on SMS and Viber messages between Atović and Minister Konaković, it can be concluded that all of the above was done to prevent Atović from asking Minister Konaković an uncomfortable question at 'his' press conference regarding his employment status and working conditions as a severely disabled person.

By condemning the actions of Minister Konaković, who clearly shows no empathy towards persons with disabilities and true heroes of this country, we want to tell him and those like him that our alliance will react and stand with persons with disabilities, and together with them, do everything to ensure they receive all the rights they should have based on the UN Charter and the European Convention on the Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Hoping that Atović will no longer be denied entry to his workplace, we take this opportunity to call on Minister Konaković to resolve his problems as soon as possible and enable him to perform his job with dignity at the said ministry," the statement from the Alliance of War Veterans with Disabilities of Central Bosnia Canton, signed by president Ekrem Julardžija, adds.
