Meeting of the President of the SSSBiH and the Trade Union Organisation 'Sarajevo osiguranje'

(Patria) - The President of the Union of Independent Trade Unions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Selvedin Šatorović, met today at the Trade Union House with Elvedin Musić, President of the Trade Union Organisation “Sarajevo osiguranje”, which has more than 450 members. The meeting was also attended by Adis Kečo, Head of the Professional Service of the SSSBiH, the Union announced.

Musić informed those present about the problems currently faced by employees of “Sarajevo osiguranje”, and the resistance they have offered and continue to offer regarding the privatisation of this company. The reason for the workers' determination to oppose the sale of “Sarajevo osiguranje” lies, among other things, in the fact that it would inevitably lead to job losses, but also in the fact that the company's management regularly fulfils all obligations towards employees and that the insurance company itself operates positively.

President Šatorović, on behalf of the Union of Independent Trade Unions of BiH, expressed full support for the leadership and members of the Trade Union Organisation “Sarajevo osiguranje”, and promised to make all resources of the SSSBiH available to the workers of that company in their struggle to preserve jobs.

Finally, it was agreed that the Trade Union Organisation “Sarajevo osiguranje” will become part of the trade union family of the Union of Independent Trade Unions of BiH in the coming period, and that it will represent the nucleus for the establishment of a new branch trade union of finance within the largest trade union organisation in our country.
