Political leaders' meeting continues tomorrow, no one is giving up on their principles

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - After three hours, the meeting of the leaders of SDA, HDZ BiH, SBB, SDP BiH, and DF concluded, after which it was presented to the public that there is no progress again and that, as SDP leader Nermin Nikšić stated, no one is giving up on their principles.

- If you ask who is to blame, we are all to blame because there is no compromise, and as for SDP BiH, we said that it is acceptable for us that the Law on Electoral Units be a temporary solution so that the results of the General Elections can be implemented until the State Parliament amends the Election Law. We are pleased that the Venice Commission has confirmed that the Election Law cannot be in conflict with the Constitution of FBiH – said Nikšić.

SBB President Fahrudin Radončić did not want to identify the culprit in his statement to the media, saying that the negotiations continue tomorrow morning, while Borjana Krišto, who, along with Dragan Čović, represented the HDZ BiH delegation, reiterated the party's earlier position. She said that the Constitutional Court's verdict in the Ljubić case should be proportionally applied to the BiH Presidency and the legitimate election of members to both the House of Peoples and the BiH Presidency.

Nikšić added that he does not believe there will be progress tomorrow, but that anything is possible. Tomorrow, statements will be made by US Ambassador Maureen Cormack, Head of the EU Delegation Lars Gunnar Wigemark, Acting Assistant Secretary of State of the United States Matthew Palmer, and Director at EEAS for Western Europe, Western Balkans and Turkey Angelina Eichhorst.

We remind you that the Venice Commission, during earlier consultations, provided a framework and possibilities for resolving this burning issue in BiH, which is that the solution should be sought through the Constitution of FBiH.
