
As part of a working visit to Tunisia, Dr. Saša Toperić, from the Center for Transatlantic Relations SAIS in Washington, held a lecture on the topic “Regional Cooperation – the Future of North Africa and the Wider Mediterranean” at the Mediterranean University in Tunis, attended by representatives of Tunisia’s political life, diplomats accredited in the country, and representatives of non-governmental organizations, BH news agency Patria.
Toperić, along with representatives of the United States Embassy in Tunis and Dr. Mahmoud Triki, President of the Mediterranean University in Tunis, also participated in a round table discussion where the new Brookings Institution book from Washington on “Changes in the Mediterranean” was presented. Stronger cooperation between the Center for Transatlantic Relations SAIS and the Mediterranean University in Tunis was agreed upon, as well as the establishment of a regional think-tank for Maghreb countries within this university.
Toperić thanked the international community for the support shown to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia after the severe floods that hit the Balkans, and expressed hope for and the need for long-term support for the affected areas, reports Patria.
