Šarović: Turkey is one of BiH's most important economic partners

Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Šarović met in Sarajevo with the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock of the Republic of Turkey, Ahmet Fakibaba, the Patria agency reports. 

After the meeting with his Turkish colleague, Šarović stated that the total foreign trade exchange with Turkey in the first six months amounted to 650 million dollars, making Turkey one of the seven most important economic partners of BiH. 

Minister Šarović emphasized that BiH exports a third of its agricultural products to Turkey and has a surplus with this country. Last year, BiH exported goods worth 270 million KM to Turkey, while imports amounted to 50 million KM. 

According to Minister Šarović, BiH exports mostly oil, sugar, meat, flour, and cereals to Turkey. 

Šarović also added that in 2012, BiH exported food worth 12 million KM to Turkey, while today that amount has risen to 258. 

Šarović and his Turkish colleague announced the holding of an agricultural-business forum in Sarajevo at the end of the year. 

In addition to meeting with Šarović, the Turkish minister also met in Sarajevo with the Federal Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, Šemsudin Dedić, the Minister for Refugees and Displaced Persons, Edin Ramić, and the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Denis Zvizdić.
