Šarović on Dodik: You are leading us to isolation, economic collapse, RS is heading for an abyss

(Patria) - "Always and above all, the Serbian Democratic Party is on the side of Republika Srpska, and we do not align ourselves with the policy of the authorities that is leading RS into an abyss," stated Mirko Šarović, president of SDS, reacting to Milorad Dodik's statement that the opposition is not aligning itself with this entity.

Šarović said that no one has the right to divide the people on this basis and that the opposition fundamentally differs from the current authorities in how Republika Srpska should be led and how its future is envisioned.

He emphasized that the greatest deception and the most terrible lie is to divide one's own people into good and bad, suitable and unsuitable, pointing out that Republika Srpska is a common good for all who created it.

"The division between the government and the opposition is not based on who is a 'greater patriot,' as Dodik tries to deceive the public, but on the insurmountable gap between the disastrous policy of destroying RS from the position and our policy of genuine care and its true preservation and prosperity. Your policy of the abyss divides us from the only normal policy of progress that we advocate for," Šarović told Dodik.

He emphasized that the way Dodik and SNSD are leading Republika Srpska will bring nothing good.

"On the contrary, you are leading us to isolation, economic collapse and poverty, as well as to enormous risk for its future. Patriotism is to oppose this and pursue a reasonable policy that will not endanger the Dayton Agreement and peace. That is the only correct policy – one that is on the side of preserving the existence of Republika Srpska," said Šarović.

He reiterated that SDS was and remains against the introduction of sanctions.

"Our greatest enemy is not Escobar, he is irrelevant, our policies divide us. And that is why we are not calling for any sanctions, against anyone. That is our principle and the stance of SDS always. SDS or the opposition does not need power obtained through someone's sanctions, nor power obtained on tanks of any markings, and SNSD did not behave like that in the not-so-distant past," Šarović reminded in the SDS statement.
