Šarović: Chain price increases are yet to come

BIJELJINA, (Patria) - Chain price increases after the excise duty hike are quite expected, especially for those who voted in the House of Representatives for the excise increase, only they did not admit it earlier, said the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Mirko Šarović, while appearing on BN TV.

He added that due to the overall situation, BiH expects a challenging time.

Šarović warned that chain price increases are yet to come.

- We will be hit by high prices of all those products whose price includes the price of fuel. It remains to be seen how those who voted for this will help the citizens who will feel the price increases the most - said Šarović.

Introducing excise duties on electricity would be another blow to the standard of living, Šarović believes.

- I am following developments within the Energy Community, and for now this issue has not been placed on the agenda, and whether it will be depends on many other factors. If it is introduced at the EU level, then it will indeed be a very problematic issue - said Šarović.

Šarović said that he will accept the candidacy in the upcoming elections for either of the two highest positions, if the SDS Main Committee selects him as the candidate.

- It is up to the Main Committee to decide. For now, I think this is excellent publicity for all of us and for the Alliance for Change. We need to assess everything maturely and healthily and make the best decision, probably in a week or two. Whether it will be in February or March, I do not know because I do not influence that. It will probably also follow when the competition announces its candidates - said Šarović.

Regarding the SDS candidate, internal party negotiations are currently underway, said Šarović, emphasizing that besides him, possible candidates from SDS include Mićo Mićić, Mladen Bosić, Dragan Mektić, and Vukota Govedarica.
