Šarović: Dodik advocated for the abolition of the RS Army and unified BiH Armed Forces 15 years ago

(Patria) - Due to Milorad Dodik's policies, 50,000 people have left Republika Srpska this year, and SDS or anyone else is not to blame for this departure, but the government of which Dodik is the master, stated SDS President Mirko Šarović today.
 
He told a press conference that Dodik, instead of creating crises, should answer the question of why RS is losing its population.
 
"He is sweeping this issue under the rug and instead of caring about RS and its population, he is solely concerned with how to stay in power and how to get a new mandate," said Šarović.
 
Commenting on the announcement of a huge increase in electricity prices for the economy in Republika Srpska, Šarović emphasized that SDS is strictly against it.
 
"The SDS position is that there is no reason for any price increase because, according to the parameters of the RS Energy Regulatory Agency, none of the three basic parameters on which the price is formed have been met. The costs of labor, input resources, and system maintenance have remained the same," explained Šarović.
 
He notes that if this price increase occurs, in addition to the domestic economy, citizens will ultimately pay the price, as living costs will also increase.
 
"We must use every opportunity and engage maximally against this price increase because it would only serve the bad management of Elektroprivreda RS. On the other hand, the economy of RS, which is competitive precisely because it has lower electricity costs, would be brought into a hopeless situation, and this would endanger the entire economic system," warned Šarović.
 
He assessed that Milorad Dodik's media attacks on him and SDS yesterday were petty and primitive.
 
"Dodik constantly mentions Bosniak parties as some kind of alibi, but he doesn't say that he has been in power with them for 15 years and that this is the case in this mandate as well. He governs with them, so SDS or anyone else is not responsible for the current situation in BiH," stated Šarović.
 
He says Dodik has no right to lecture anyone about the devastation of the Dayton Peace Agreement.
 
He states that Dodik, in order to please the international community and come to power 15 years ago, pursued a different policy.

"Isn't he the one who publicly advocated for the abolition of the BiH Presidency and the election of a single BiH president on TV cameras? The same Dodik advocated for the abolition of entity voting and the vital interest of the people, everywhere except in the House of Peoples. Dodik, who is now playing the patriot, publicly boasted about the abolition of the RS Army and the creation of a single armed forces," reminded Šarović.
 
Commenting on Dodik's advocacy for the formation of a third entity in BiH, Šarović said that the Serb member of the BiH Presidency should not meddle in such matters.

"This is a matter for the Federation of BiH and Bosniak-Croat relations, and we wish them success in their mutual agreement, but we should not interfere in these matters, in my opinion," said Šarović, emphasizing that the formation of a third entity could only harm Republika Srpska.

In the context of the announcement that Jelena Trivić from PDP will run for the president of RS, the SDS leader said that the topic of filling the two positions, including the candidacy for a member of the BiH Presidency, will be the focus of discussions between the two parties in the coming period.
