Sarajevo residents to mark International Archaeology Day on Saturday

The Archaeological Association "Pantheon" and the Foundation Cultural Heritage without Borders (CHwB) from Sarajevo will mark International Archaeology Day on Saturday, in order to advance archaeology in our country, it was announced from these organizations, reports the Patria News Agency.

Volunteers, dressed in the attire of Roman legionaries and Roman costumes, will present archaeological sites and research in this area from the past few years in Bosnia and Herzegovina on the square in front of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Sarajevo from 11 AM to 2 PM, through a multimedia presentation, bringing archaeology and its significance closer, as well as the work of the association "Pantheon".

Adisa Lepić from the Association "Pantheon" explains that through these activities they want to mark the day of science and bring their work closer to the domestic and regional public.

- We invite all colleagues, friends, and lovers of the past to visit us and, if they wish, to become part of our team - stated Lepić.

This year, on October 17th, "International Archaeology Day" is being celebrated worldwide for the fifth consecutive year. On this day, many organizations and institutions organize interesting content for children and adults so that as many people as possible become acquainted with archaeology and understand its great importance for the past and present.

The Archaeological Association "Pantheon" is a non-governmental and non-profit organization founded at the end of 2014 by about ten young students of archaeology, history, and art history.

The association's mission is to build and strengthen cultural-historical awareness in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as in the region, by organizing various manifestations and events. Through its work program, the Pantheon Association contributes to and encourages young scientists, students, and all sympathizers of history, archaeology, and related scientific disciplines to actively participate and be part of the activities organized by the association, thereby contributing to the association's work, enriching themselves with new knowledge and experience, and making positive contributions to the world of culture.

CHwB is a non-governmental organization founded 20 years ago with the aim of preserving, protecting, and promoting cultural heritage worldwide. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, CHwB has renovated 25 buildings and implemented more than 40 projects since its establishment.
