Sarajevo residents will mark the 22nd anniversary of the Drvenija massacre on Saturday, November 28, 2015, when the Serb army killed seven and wounded four civilians near the famous Drvenija bridge in Sarajevo.
The massacre occurred around 12:40 PM, when a shell was fired from Serb positions at the Drvenija bridge, where a large number of citizens had gathered.
The following were killed: Staka Aksentić, Zekerijah Dacić, Ibro Plakalo, Sead Plakalo, Igbal Redžić, Dženan Smajić, and Elvedin Zimić.
For this crime, the then commander of the Sarajevo-Romanija Corps, Dragomir Milošević, and Stanislav Galić were convicted. Galić was initially sentenced to 20 years in prison, but after the prosecution's appeal, he was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2006, becoming the first person to receive such a severe sentence at that tribunal.
The trial of Ratko Mladić for crimes committed in Sarajevo is still ongoing, writes NAP.
