A large number of Sarajevo citizens participated today in the “Walk for Mahir”. The column set off from the Children of Sarajevo Square towards Marijin Dvor, where an empty school desk and chair will be placed on the plateau in front of the Building of the Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports the Patria news agency.
Each citizen received a purple ribbon symbolizing the fight against peer violence.
Today's protest walk was organized 40 days after the suicide of 14-year-old Mahir Rakovac. Due to suspicion that Mahir was a victim of peer violence, the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton, is also conducting an official investigation.
“A peaceful walk for Mahir” will be held today in several cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
