Sarajevo resident denied entry at airport: Your passport must be valid for at least four months to enter Turkey

Turkey has tightened its rules, requiring passports to be valid for at least four months when entering the country, writes the BiH news agency Patria. Otherwise, you cannot enter the plane or the country.

This is exactly what happened to Elmedin S. from Sarajevo, who was turned back from Sarajevo Airport yesterday because his passport was set to expire on March 15, 2015. He announced on his Facebook profile that you cannot board a plane unless your passport is valid for four months, even though the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs website states that as of January 1, 2015, the rule is that it must be valid for at least 60 days from the date of entry into Turkey.

- They tell you that when you get to passport control at the airport. It doesn't matter that you bought the ticket last week and it doesn't matter that the MFA website says two months.
