Sarajevo SDP without decision on KS Government reconstruction, Presidency to decide on (non)dissolution of certain organizations

(Patria) - The session of the SDP Sarajevo Cantonal Committee held on Thursday did not bring a resolution to the situation regarding the reconstruction of the KS Government, nor to the internal turmoil within Sarajevo SDP and certain municipal organizations.

The multi-hour session, attended by municipal, cantonal, federal, and state representatives, was at times very heated. Besides the internal problems existing within SDP Sarajevo, discussions also covered relations with other coalition partners in Sarajevo.

Although the KS Minister of Health, Haris Vranić, attended the session, there was no mention of his departure from the KS Government last night.

The president of Sarajevo SDP, Adnan Šteta, confirmed that there is still no final agreement on the reconstruction of the KS Government and that negotiations are ongoing.

Given that this was the first 'live' session in two years, participants opened numerous topics, with the most discussion focusing on the damaged relations between parties in municipal councils, as well as with municipal mayors, with an emphasis on Novo Sarajevo and Centar.

Although the session concluded with a 'narrow majority' adopted conclusion to submit an initiative to the SDP Presidency for the dissolution of OO SDP Novo Sarajevo and OO SDP Novi Grad, state representative Saša Magazinović stated that he is against the dissolution of any organization and that efforts should be made to resolve problems.

Several municipal organizations will not give up without a fight, and if pressure continues on the SDP Presidency and president Nermin Nikšić to dissolve certain municipal organizations, then the dissolution of the SDP Sarajevo Cantonal Committee will be requested.

It is up to the Presidency and president Nikšić to calm the passions within Sarajevo SDP before the local elections, if they wish to achieve a good result.
