Sarajevo Half Marathon to feature 3,000 participants, traffic disruptions until 1 PM

The start of the 11th Sarajevo Coca-Cola Half Marathon, G-Drive Relay Half Marathon, and Novo Nordisk Fun Run, on Sunday, September 17th at 10 AM in front of the BBI Center, will be marked by the Mayor of Sarajevo, Abdulah Skaka, who will also run the Fun Run race.

Due to the half marathon, traffic will be temporarily suspended between 8 AM and 1 PM.

The race starts at 10 AM and will proceed through the streets: Maršala Tita, Alipašina, Patriotske lige to Pionirska dolina, and towards Marijin Dvor, Vrbanja, Wilson's Promenade next to the Bristol Hotel, and the streets Hiseta, Obala Kulina bana, Bentbaša, Aleja ambasadora to the Kozija ćuprija bridge, and finally the streets Telali, Mula Mustafe Bašeskije, Maršala Tita to the BBI Center where the finish line is.

In accordance with the Decision of the Ministry of Transport of KS, traffic will be suspended in the mentioned streets until the last participant passes.

There will also be changes in public transport. Tram traffic will operate via the Željeznička stanica loop and will not be functional on the route Tehnička škola – Baščaršija - Tehnička škola.

Bus line no. 31e Vijećnica - Dobrinja will change its starting terminal and part of its route, and will depart from the Trg Austrije terminal. On the route Pofalići - Trg Austrije in both directions, it will operate on the trolleybus route.

Bus and minibus lines departing from the Park and Dom Armije terminals will change their starting terminal and will depart from the Sutjeska terminal.

Bus and minibus lines that are used by or intersect with the race participants from the Sutjeska terminal, including lines from the Dom Armije and Park terminals, as well as lines 41 Drvenija – Gornji Velešići and 18 Drvenija - Pofalići, will be temporarily suspended until the runners pass.

The exact time of the complete traffic suspension within the specified period will be determined by the operational bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs depending on the situation on the ground.

Several thousand participants from around 30 countries are expected, and the half marathon is 21.1 km long.
