Sarajevo boys from a wartime photo are successful people today

The photograph of a group of boys running, with one carrying a United Nations flag, was taken in 1992 in the Sarajevo settlement of Dobrinja, writes the BH News Agency Patria. That photograph was published by some media yesterday, in the context of American journalist Christiane Amanpour posting a video from 1992 on her Facebook profile, during her stay in Sarajevo, recalling the war years and the period of aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As a source of the Patria News Agency reveals, the photograph was taken at the moment when UN transporters were passing behind Baku Street, where all the boys in the picture lived. It was the so-called Blue Road.

The Patria News Agency reveals that all the boys in the photograph are alive and well today, some have moved abroad, while others are still in Dobrinja, as well as in other parts of Sarajevo.

The boy on the far left of the picture is named Mensur Mecko Šalo, married, father of one child, employed. To his right is Adnan Demić, also employed, living in Dobrinja. Both are in their early thirties.

Behind them is the younger boy Anel Džolić, who is 26 years old today and lives in the United States of America. The boy carrying the UN flag is Armin Gojak – Rale, and as Patria learns, he owns an IT company. The boy in the black hoodie is Igor Dalipagić, who is now a manager of a cafe.

We could not find more information about the boy in the striped t-shirt, while for the boy on the far left, we only know his nickname Šaha, but our sources reveal that he also lives in Sarajevo today, writes Patria.
