Sarajevo Airport: Smuggling of Expensive Watches, Bags, Phones, Perfumes Prevented

Officers of the Indirect Taxation Authority prevented the illegal entry of luxury goods at Sarajevo Airport. Officers of the Group for the Prevention of Smuggling and Misdemeanors from the Regional Center Sarajevo, in cooperation with officers of the CI Sarajevo Airport, carried out measures of enhanced supervision of the movement of goods and passengers. On that occasion, they prevented the illegal entry of goods into the customs territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Patria reports.

It involved several bags, perfumes, phones, and expensive watches of the brands "Breitling“, „Omega“ and „Tissot“ worth 27,500 BAM. The mentioned goods were attempted to be smuggled into the territory of BiH by individuals avoiding the payment of duties, having previously obtained a VAT refund in neighboring Serbia.

Against the perpetrators of the described illegalities, in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Customs Misdemeanors of BiH, a request for initiating misdemeanor proceedings will be filed before the competent court.
