Sarajevo Airport Holds 56 Million KM at Banks, While Novalić Announces New Borrowing

Sarajevo International Airport holds over 56 million KM with commercial banks, mostly foreign banks operating in BiH, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

At the same time, the Government of the Federation of BiH plans new borrowing from commercial banks to cover the budget deficit. Prime Minister Fadil Novalić announced that the Government could borrow as much as 200 million KM from commercial banks this year.

The Patria agency publishes a document showing that Sarajevo Airport holds over 56 million KM with Intesa Sanpaolo Bank, Union Bank, Sparkasse Bank, Sberbank, and Nova Banka from Banja Luka. The largest amount of money from Sarajevo Airport is held in accounts at Intesa Sanpaolo Bank - around 32 million KM.

Member of the Federal Parliament Mahir Mešalić (DF) stated that Sarajevo International Airport is just one of the BiH companies from which foreign banks profit, while the Government simultaneously plans new borrowing.

Patria will soon publish the amount of time deposits held with commercial banks and other public companies in FBiH.
