Sarajevo promotion of Bekim Sejranović's new novel

Publishing house Buybook presents, on Friday evening, the latest novel by Bekim Sejranović „Your Son Huckleberry Finn“ (2015).

The novel was originally published in Norwegian, after which it was taken over by three publishing houses from our region, and was described as “the best novel by one of the most interesting post-Yugoslav writers” (Zoran Ferić).

Sejranović previously published the novels ”Nowhere, from Nowhere” (Buybook/Profil, 2008) and ”The More Beautiful End” (Buybook 2010). He is the winner of the “Meša Selimović“ award for the best novel of 2008 published in Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro.

In the novel Your Son Huckleberry Finn, the narrator's terminally ill father comes from Australia to Brčko before his death to see his son, with whom he has had a strained and complicated relationship his entire life. The son is a writer who lives on a boat on the river – he sails, sometimes writes, and regularly uses drugs. His father buys him an old, larger boat, which they try to restore together.

The conversation with Bekim Sejranović on Friday at 8 PM will be led by promoters Kristina Ljevak, Marko Tomaš, and Goran Samardžić, writes the Patria news agency.
