Sarajevogas: Gas system still at risk, use gas rationally in the coming hours

(Patria) - The Cantonal Public Utility Company (KJKP) Sarajevogas d.o.o. Sarajevo informed natural gas users in Sarajevo Canton today that the gas system is still at risk and that a significant drop in pressure is expected in the late afternoon and evening hours due to the usual increase in consumption.

"In order to preserve the stability of the gas system, we ask all consumers to use gas rationally in the coming hours, i.e., to reduce consumption to the necessary minimum, because in the event of a complete interruption of gas supply and a drop in pressure in the distribution gas network, the process of re-normalizing the supply of natural gas to all customers, respecting technical rules, could last up to two months.

Therefore, we once again appeal and call on all consumers to act responsibly and in solidarity in order to preserve the gas system of Sarajevo Canton. We especially ask all consumers to turn off all appliances in rooms where they are not present, including business premises after working hours," they said from Sarajevogas.

They remind that Sarajevo-Gas a.d. East Sarajevo informed them yesterday in the late afternoon hours via email that the supply of natural gas through the main gas pipeline, which is in their ownership, would be suspended.

As stated in the letter, they suspended gas supply due to "the urgency of works at the Block Station in Snagovo from Wednesday (February 26, 2025) at 00:00 hours until Thursday (February 27, 2025) at 00:00 hours.

"Until this moment, we have not received official information about the completion of works and the repair of the fault. We thank all our users for their understanding," they added from Sarajevogas.
