SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The air in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina is unhealthy, according to measurement data published on the web platform Eko akcija.
Based on the air quality index, current pollution parameters indicate that increased symptoms and disease intensity may occur in people with heart and respiratory diseases, such as asthma, Patria reports.
Everyone else could begin to feel the negative health effects of pollution.
The following groups should reduce any outdoor physical activities: lung and heart patients, pregnant women, children, and the elderly. Prolonged or greater exertion while outdoors should also be avoided by everyone else.
Slightly lower pollution parameters were measured by stations in Zenica, but residents of this BiH city are also breathing unhealthy air, so the same recommendations apply to them as to Sarajevo.
Equally unhealthy air is also in Visoko, Ilijaš, and Živinice.
Nevertheless, the most polluted air in Bosnia and Herzegovina today is breathed by residents of Lukavac, where at noon the air quality index was measured at 229, marking the air in this city as very unhealthy.
Such air can cause significant increases in symptoms and disease intensity in people with respiratory conditions such as asthma.
The likelihood of negative consequences for the respiratory organs of the entire population is also increased!
Those suffering from lung and heart diseases, pregnant women, children, and the elderly must avoid any activities while outdoors. Everyone else should also avoid prolonged or greater exertion while outdoors!
