Sarajevo: An Evening with Ahmed Bosnić

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A promotion of Ahmed Bosnić's latest book "The World in My Palm" will be held tonight at the Bosniak Institute in Sarajevo, while a larger part of the evening will be dedicated to this renowned travel writer, journalist, and researcher, who has been present in the public life of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 55 years.

Bosnić spent his most fruitful journalistic years with Oslobođenje publications, primarily the weekly magazine Svijet. He was the editor-in-chief of the family magazine UNA, Jutarnje novine, BiH Ekskluziv, and Arka, and he also launched a series of children's magazines.

Bosnić gained popularity through his journalistic achievements, editorial skills, interesting books, documentary TV series, and unusual journeys to remote corners of the world that are difficult to reach and even harder to survive in.

Ahmed Bosnić's world is a long-standing quest for the answers to phenomena and the greatest archaeological and other mysteries of the world, and most of his books, of which he has written over fifty so far, speak of the results and scope of his research findings.

The latest book, "The World in My Palm," which will be discussed by three distinguished world travelers, Dr. Enver Imamović, Dr. Semir Osmanagić, and Slobodan Stajić, contains sixty of the most interesting travelogues from Bosnić's numerous journeys and expeditions to the most intriguing parts of the planet. Together with members of the Sarajevo association "Explorer," which celebrates its 35th anniversary this year, Bosnić has explored the Amazon, Papua New Guinea, the Galapagos Islands, the Philippines, Easter Island, Micronesia, Melanesia, Polynesia, India, Kashmir, Nepal, Tibet, South Korea, Yemen... He searched for the remains of many extinct civilizations – Sumerians, Harappans, Mohenjo-daro, Incas, Mayans, Tiahuanaco – and is one of the proponents that official historiography does not present the distant past in the true light. He is the recipient of many journalistic awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from NIŠRO "Oslobođenja."
