SARAJEVO: Charlatan Arrested, Stolen Money Found

(Patria) - Police officers of the Criminal Police Sector of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, in cooperation with the Criminal Police Sector of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tuzla Canton, with the support and technical assistance of the Intelligence-Security Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, have identified, located, and arrested a male individual, M.H. (born 1986) from Lukavac, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of Grand Theft.

This 39-year-old is suspected of coming to the Canton of Sarajevo on April 19, 2025, and stealing approximately 50,000.00 euros in cash from two citizens of Montenegro at the railway station area, in the municipality of Novo Sarajevo. Suspect M.H., according to gathered information, is prone to violence and committing criminal offenses, and is also engaged in quackery.

Precisely by "promising to solve their health problems with alternative treatment methods," the suspect arranged a meeting with the victims in Sarajevo, and during that encounter, he stole the money.

In order to document the criminal offense, with the consent of the prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, police officers searched the vehicle, house, and auxiliary premises used by the suspect. During the search, a portion of the stolen money, amounting to 20,500.00 euros, was found, as well as a Porsche Cayenne motor vehicle, which is suspected to have been purchased by the suspect with the stolen money for the amount of 28,000.00 euros. The vehicle in question was confiscated and transported to the confiscated vehicle depot of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton.



Suspect M.H. was arrested at his place of residence. He was then taken to the detention facilities for arrested persons of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, where criminal proceedings will continue.
