SARAJEVO: Third car arson in seven days

In the past seven days, three cars have been deliberately set on fire in Sarajevo, with the latest burning around midnight on Izet Karšić Street, Novi Grad Sarajevo municipality. A VW Tiguan used by H.N. from Sarajevo was set ablaze. 

The fire was extinguished by members of the Sarajevo Canton Fire Brigade, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

An investigation was conducted by police officers of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior and a forensic expert from the Fire Protection Department. The investigation established that the fire was caused by the use of an open flame by an unknown person.  

Last week, two cars were set on fire on consecutive days. On Tuesday, a Seat Ibiza burned on Soukbunar Street, and as determined by the forensic expert from the Fire Protection Department, the car was doused with a flammable liquid and then set on fire. It was completely destroyed.

The second car burned on Wednesday morning on Alije Nametka Street, with firefighters extinguishing the fire at 6:50 a.m.
