Sarajevo without water from 6 PM tomorrow

Most of Sarajevo will be without water from 6 PM tomorrow due to works at the Bačevo spring, announced the management of the ViK company, as reported by the Patria agency.

- Based on the decision of the Ministry of Communal Economy and Infrastructure of Sarajevo Canton and the management of the company “ViK”, we inform our consumers that the final works at the “Bačevo” spring, which involve connecting new wells to the pressure pipeline for the “Mojmilo” reservoir, will begin on Tuesday, 08.08.2017 at 18:00 h.

Given that these are major works, which include reconnecting the electrical drive, welding the pressure pipeline, installing necessary fittings and other equipment, we will start the work during the daytime and work through the night, in order to ensure stabilization of water supply by the morning hours (around 8 AM).

The planned works involve shutting down all 14 wells for the direction of the “Mojmilo” reservoir, which means there will be no inflow into the reservoir, and since this reservoir supplies a large part of Sarajevo Canton, during the mentioned period there will be interruptions in water supply to the following settlements: Dobrinja, Saraj polje, Nedžarići, Alipašino polje, Halilovići, Otoka, Dolac Malta, Socijalno, Grbavica, Pofalići, Miljacka settlement, Trg Heroja, Hrasno, Marijin dvor, Adema Buće, Buća potok, Čengić vila I and II, Rječica, Zabrđe, Rajlovac, Reljevo, Pogledine, Hambina carina, Hrid, Skenderija, and the central part of the city from Marijin dvor to Baščaršija.

We expect stabilization of water supply in the early morning hours of 09.08.2017 at 8 AM.

Given that there have been several interruptions in water supply recently, we ask our consumers for understanding, because both the previous and the mentioned works are part of a project through which the company management aims to provide additional quantities of water, in order to ensure stabilization of water supply in the coming period.
