Sarajevo: SDA and DF Begin Negotiations, Names of Cantonal Ministers Next Week

Last night in Sarajevo, the first official negotiations between the cantonal delegations of SDA and the Democratic Front regarding the inter-party distribution of ministerial portfolios in the Government of Sarajevo Canton were held, reports the news agency Patria. 

Both delegations presented their demands, which will be reviewed over the next two days, and a new meeting at which it will be fully defined which ministries belong to SDA and which to DF will be held on Wednesday.

There will be no problems, as we were told by these parties, because the demands for certain portfolios mostly do not overlap. 

After that, as we were told, the parties will follow the usual procedure where municipal organizations submit their proposals for ministerial candidates, after which the cantonal committees of SDA and DF will confirm them. 

Thus, next week the names of the new cantonal ministers will be known, after which the Speaker of the Assembly of Sarajevo Canton, Sejo Bukva, will convene a session to confirm Prime Minister Elmedin Konaković (SDA) and the new ministers. This way, as Bukva and Konaković have already announced, within the first 10 days of March, Sarajevo Canton will also get a new executive authority.
