Sarajevo: Meeting Dedicated to Analyzing the Biosafety Situation in the World and BiH

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Committee for Microbiology and Related Disciplines of the Department of Medical Sciences of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ANUBiH) will organize an expanded meeting today at 12:30 PM.

The meeting, which will be dedicated to analyzing the biosafety situation in the world and Bosnia and Herzegovina resulting from the emergence of the new coronavirus COVID-2019, will be held in the amphitheater of ANUBiH.

“New microorganisms and new diseases are an important area of interest for our Committee. The Committee has recognized zoonoses as a regional and global threat to public health, as well as to the economic progress of the country. Being multidisciplinary in its composition, the Committee is the initiator and coordinator of research into various aspects of the emergence of zoonoses, prevention and treatment of diseases, and the recognition of the potential misuse of these pathogens in terrorist attacks,” the ANUBiH statement reads.

Today's meeting is open.

Experts from various scientific fields have been invited to contribute to the adoption of conclusions and recommendations for solving the current problem of coronavirus spread.
