Sarajevo defeated by Atromitos 2:1

FK Sarajevo hosted Greek Atromitos tonight at the "Asim Ferhatović Hase" stadium in the first match of the 3rd qualifying round of the Europa League, and was defeated with a score of 2:1, writes the Patria news agency.

The Greeks took the lead in the 11th minute after a corner, and the goal was scored by Fytanidis. Sarajevo immediately went on the offensive after conceding the goal, which paid off in the 26th minute when Bojan Puzigaća scored with a powerful shot. The Greeks regained the lead with a goal by Nastos, and in the end, this was the final score.

The team from Košev played solidly, and the return leg will be played in Greece next Thursday when Dženan Uščuplić's players will try to qualify further in the Europa League. Incidentally, FK Sarajevo is the only one left in the competition among BiH representatives on the European stage. Dejan Bandović, Sarajevo's goalkeeper, stated after the match that there is no surrender in the return leg, regardless of the fact that it will be difficult to score two goals away.

- We were better for the whole match, but the Greeks took advantage of our mistakes. We play attacking football, and it will be the same in Greece, and we will do our best to surprise them and advance further - said Bandović.

 

Despite the defeat, the fans at Košev sent the footballers off with applause.
