Sarajevo easily triumphs in first quarterfinal match of the Cup

(Patria) - Sarajevo team achieved a routine victory over Sloboda in the first match of the BiH Cup quarterfinals with a score of 2:0. With this, the maroon team practically came to the threshold of advancing to the next round of the competition.

The maroon team opened the first quarterfinal match of the BiH Cup in an ideal way, already in the fourth minute Hamza Čataković brought the lead to the home team at the Asim Ferhatović Hase stadium. The ball came to the Sarajevo striker after a corner, who routinely scored from close range.

After that, the players of coach Aleksandar Vasoski continued to put pressure on Sloboda's back line, while the Tuzla team sought their chance in counterattacks. In the 23rd minute, Nedim Hadžić had a decent chance for the guests, but he shot straight at the well-positioned Belmin Dizdarević.

Then a calm period of play followed, the score did not change until the teams went to the break. It is also worth noting that just before the end of the first half, Sloboda coach Mladen Žižović received a red card for protesting to referee Frano Jelić.

Sarajevo also started the second half of the match with a goal. Dupovac headed after a corner, Bukvić saved, but the experienced Mersudin Ahmetović was in the right place and sent the ball into the Tuzla team's net for 2:0.

The continuation of the match did not offer much. Sarajevo controlled the game, Sloboda seemed completely powerless to create a serious chance.

In such circumstances, the match drifted towards a calm end and a safe 2:0 for the home team. The return match is scheduled for March 16 in Tuzla.
