Sarajevo: Private taxi operators also raise prices

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - After Sarajevo taxi increased its service prices last weekend, other taxi operators in Sarajevo followed suit on Thursday. The reason is the increase in fuel prices in the country. 

The starting fare has been increased from 1.50 KM by 0.40 fening, and each kilometer is now 1.20 KM instead of 1 KM as it was before the price hike. 

Thus, under the new rates, a ride from Dobrinja to Pofalići, for example, will cost 10 KM, instead of 8 KM as before the increase. On longer routes, the price increase is significantly felt, so a ride from Dobrinja to Bjelave will cost nearly 17 KM, instead of 12.50 as before the increase.

Taxi operators state that they were forced to take this step, and the announced fuel price reduction of 0.05 fening will not affect the new price list.
