Sarajevo European Judo Open: Miletić, Hebib and Sadiković bring BiH three bronzes

(Patria) - The Sarajevo European Judo Open 2025 successfully concluded on its second day of competition, and in addition to Aleksandra Samardžić's silver medal from yesterday, BiH representatives won three more medals.

Mustafa Hebib won a bronze medal in the judokas up to 81 kilograms category after defeating Dutchman Thomas Snijder in the fight for third place.



Toni Miletić also brought bronze to Bosnia and Herzegovina, defeating American representative John Yajne in the fight for third place in the category up to 90 kilograms.

- Winning a medal is always a great feeling, it's a confirmation of good and quality work. However, I always repeat that for me it is always special to win a medal on home soil, in front of the home crowd - said Toni Miletić.

Miletić is one of the three BiH judokas who recently signed scholarship agreements with the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, related to the Olympic Games to be held in Los Angeles in 2028.



Harun Sadiković brought the third bronze medal to our country today. Our heavyweight defeated Briton Wesley Greenidge in the fight for third place.

Although he felt pain in his hamstring about 40 seconds before the end of the match, he successfully finished the fight, confirming that he is in good form after winning the Balkan champion title.

Unfortunately, Narin Handan did not manage to bring a fifth medal to our team in this year's edition of the Sarajevo European Open. She was defeated by Italian competitor Elisa Adrasti in the category up to 48 kilograms.



Nevertheless, a balance of one silver and three bronze medals, along with another excellent organization, is certainly something that the Judo Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina can be satisfied with.
