Sarajevo to host one-day national cheerleading camp

The cheerleading camp will be held on October 23rd in Skenderija starting at 12:00 PM. This is the first cheerleading event under the auspices of the Cheerleading Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to be held in Bosnia.

Until now, all championships and camps have been held in Herzegovina because Herzegovina abounds with cheerleading clubs. It is fascinating information that the West Herzegovina Canton has a club in all four of its possible four cities, while there isn't a single club in Bosnia. Precisely with the aim of developing cheerleading sport in Bosnia as well, the federation is organizing a camp in Sarajevo.

Cheerleading was officially recognized as a sport on May 31st, 2013, and negotiations are underway regarding its inclusion in the Olympic Games. Cheerleading is, alongside football, the most popular and fastest-growing sport in the world, and it is the only sport where girls and boys compete equally.

Over 200 athletes from all over the country have already registered for the camp, with more expected. The camp is open not only to federation members but also to those who wish to start a cheerleading club in their town and gain basic knowledge, as well as to all interested individuals. The camp is scheduled to conclude at 6:00 PM.

All athletes at the camp will receive a diploma, and the best ones can expect gift packages.
