Sarajevo to get a Film Fund of KS, budget to grow by year-end

(Patria) - Between the Draft and the Proposal of the 2025 budget in Sarajevo Canton, the amount intended for financing cinematography has increased by one million marks, but the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton, Nihad Uk, points out that this is not enough for significant progress of the film industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"Although this increase represents a step forward, the initiative we have launched is much more important. The establishment of the KS Film Fund will enable the unblocking of processes at the level of the Federation of BiH. The moment the Foundation is established, in partnership with the Federation of BiH, the cantonal budget of one million marks for the advancement of the film industry could significantly increase by the end of the year. At this moment, I do not wish to prejudge the numbers," stated Prime Minister Uk.

The establishment of the KS Film Fund represents a strategic initiative that could bring new dynamics to the financing and development of the film industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The launch of the Foundation was initiated by the KS Government through the Ministry of Culture and Sports, headed by Minister Kenan Magoda, with the aim of creating a long-term and sustainable model of support for domestic film and audiovisual production.
