Sarajevo: 10th Critical Mass of Cyclists on October 3rd

-The City of Sarajevo, which initiated and launched the project of building a city bicycle path, will remain a leader in the further implementation of one of the City's currently active infrastructural projects, emphasized the Mayor of Sarajevo Ivo Komšić at today's press conference on the occasion of the 10th Critical Mass of Cyclists in Sarajevo on Saturday, October 3rd at 4 PM in front of the National Museum, reports the Patria News Agency.

Mayor Komšić stressed that Sarajevo, like other European cities, should have not only recreational but also functional cycling traffic, with which the other participants of today's press conference agreed. It was pointed out that in European cities, up to 20 percent of people use bicycles as a means of transport.

Irfan Nefić, Head of the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, and Rasim Kadić, President of the Management Board of BIHAMK, agreed that for the safety of traffic participants, more attention should be paid in the future to the education of pedestrians, cyclists, and motor vehicle drivers.

Thanking the City of Sarajevo, the Municipality of Novi Grad, and the Sarajevo Canton Road Directorate, Senad Bečković, President of BK Trek team, also invited the mayors of other Sarajevo municipalities to resolve legal regulations faster so that the construction of the bicycle path through the city of Sarajevo can continue, it was announced from the City Administration.
