Statement from FK Sarajevo regarding attempted slander and damage to the Club's reputation

SARAJEVO; (Patria) - During the match of the 20th round of the BH Telecom Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina played yesterday, February 22, at the Asim Ferhatović Hase stadium against FK Tuzla City, in which the Bordeaux team achieved a high victory of 6:2, allegations appeared in the media by individuals aimed at slandering and damaging the reputation of the Football Club Sarajevo.

"The operations and all activities of the Football Club Sarajevo under all conditions are always based on fair play, and accordingly the Club condemns any form of racism, nationalism, and insults on any basis.

When we step onto the field, we are all equal; the only thing that makes a difference is the quality of the performances provided and the results achieved.

Following the allegations that appeared in the public that a player of FK Sarajevo insulted a player of the opposing team during the match, the Football Club Sarajevo has taken a series of steps to determine the accuracy of the stated allegations.

We hereby inform the public that all players of the current champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina behaved in a maximally correct manner during the match on the field, and that no player of the visiting team was subjected to verbal violence on racial grounds as stated.

In addition, FK Sarajevo will initiate a series of legal proceedings on Monday, February 24, with the aim of protecting the reputation of the players and the Club itself. In this regard, we remind that the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with the referees and delegates, should be the first stop for resolving all potential irregularities and omissions during the match, and certainly not the media through statements by individuals," it was announced from FK Sarajevo.
