Bosnia and Herzegovina will soon get its first factory for processing animal waste, which will be built in Kakanj, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).
The project, worth 30 million KM, is invested by the Croatian company Agroproteinka from Zagreb, and its owner and director Ivica Grlić has promised 70 new jobs.
The land for the construction of the factory has been purchased, a completely new company Bioorganika Kakanj has been registered, and the issuance of environmental permits is in progress, writes NAP.
Bosnia and Herzegovina currently has major problems when it comes to the disposal and processing of waste of animal origin. During the catastrophic floods that hit BiH in May this year, when a large number of animals also perished, the bodies of dead animals from BiH were sent to Serbia and Croatia for harmless disposal or processing.
Grlić said that the factory in Kakanj will deal with the disposal and thermal treatment of animal by-products according to the most modern European standards, and the products obtained after processing this waste will be exported further to the world market, writes Patria.
