A married couple from Bosnia, Samir and Miraheta Skender, were found dead in their family home in a suburb of Salt Lake City, Utah, US media reported, according to the Patria agency.
They were found dead in the house after their daughters heard gunfire.
- We immediately responded and confirmed that we found two lifeless bodies at the scene of the incident – the local police said in a statement.
There is still no information on the details and motives of the murder, but police currently suspect murder and suicide.
- They were exceptionally good people. It is truly sad. This could have happened to anyone, why did it happen to them – a neighbor, who is also a close friend of their daughters, told US media.
The Skender couple owned the restaurant European Pizza Deli, and a sign at the restaurant's entrance states that it is temporarily closed and will reopen on September 11.
According to neighbors, the Skenders were preparing to go on vacation to Bosnia, and the restaurant was closed for that reason.
