Salkić: Schmidt told Dodik to continue with separatism, time to consolidate pro-Bosnian forces

(Patria) - Ramiz Salkić, a deputy in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, said that the
High Representative's cancellation of his visit to Banja Luka is a direct message to Milorad Dodik that he can continue with creeping separatism and that there will be no foreign intervention.

"The High Representative's cancellation of his visit to Banja Luka, who could have requested the assistance of international armed forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina to ensure his safety, is a direct message to Milorad Dodik that he can continue with creeping separatism and that there will be no foreign intervention.

This is the worst possible thing that could have happened to the High Representative, to announce his arrival in a city and then to withdraw under the pressure of the local authorities from the visit. This is a direct violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and its unimpeded implementation throughout the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina," Salkić states.

He states that the High Representative himself has contributed to this situation due to missed opportunities to act adequately at certain moments.

"I dare say that Dodik has informants in the close circle of the High Representative or someone who is in contact with the key information and moves of the High Representative and the OHR, and he behaves and takes steps accordingly. This will be a great encouragement for extremely radical separatists to continue their campaign towards an attempt to divide Bosnia and Herzegovina and endanger peace and stability with unforeseeable consequences.

I call on all those who have decision-making mechanisms at various levels to bear in mind that tens of thousands of Bosniaks live in this entity who are discriminated against, and whose safety is increasingly threatened by the latest attacks by extremists.

Our calls for EUFOR and OHR to act are not our naivety but our obligation to remind them of their obligations, but also of their failures today, not to allow a betrayal like the one committed by their predecessors when they allowed the commission of genocide against Bosniaks in UN "safe zones" by the army and parts of the Bosnian Serb police.

The moment and the situation are very serious and they require the consolidation of pro-Bosnian forces, whatever that may mean, because it is clear that those who are leading the processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina today are partly naive, do not see the processes correctly due to the desire for power, others are pushing the country towards division and conflict, and others are waiting for the outcome and their opportunity for a part of the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina," Salkić said.
