Salkić meets with Head of the OHR Regional Office

(Patria) - Ramiz Salkić, Vice-President of the BiH entity RS, met today, January 30, 2019, with Ambassador Marianna Berecz, Head of the Regional Office of the High Representative (OHR) in Banja Luka.

The participants of the meeting discussed the current position of Bosniaks in the BiH entity RS and the long-standing problems they face. Vice-President Salkić emphasized the importance of a more active role of the OHR in resolving problems, especially those related to the Bosnian language, employment in the public sector, compliance with legal regulations, but also problems such as the unconstitutional Rules of Procedure of the Constitutional Court of RS. 

“I call on the OHR to act in accordance with the mandate entrusted to it by the international community. We expect the OHR to help the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina in building a society of equal rights and equal opportunities throughout the country. 

Unfortunately, today there are strong political forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina that are against building a society of equal opportunities for all citizens. These forces want to maintain a situation where one nation has a privileged position compared to the other two nations, which is not in line with the Dayton Peace Agreement. The role of the OHR is to stop and change such harmful phenomena,” Salkić said after the meeting.
