Salkić: The maximum regarding assistance to Bosniaks in RS and proving Schmidt's authority is his visit to Potočari!

(Patria) - Ramiz Salkić, a deputy in the National Assembly of RS, reacted to the OHR's statement upon the High Representative's return from Srebrenica, which stated that some leaders in this country have shown restraint and focused on key reforms needed for Bosnia and Herzegovina to officially begin EU membership negotiations this spring, and that it is of utmost importance for everyone to show commitment to democracy, human rights, and the common future prosperity of the country.

Salkić stated that the fact that the High Representative praises those who relativize the dangers of denying the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, considering the issue of unconstitutional and illegal marking of January 9th as the entity day of RS as peripheral, speaks volumes about his priorities.

- The unconstitutional and illegal marking of January 9th as the entity day of RS in Bosnia and Herzegovina concluded without a serious reaction from the High Representative responsible for monitoring the implementation of the civilian part of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

His maximum regarding this entity, assistance to Bosniaks, and proving his authority is a visit to Potočari and a meeting with representatives of the Association "Mothers of Srebrenica". Of course, nothing has come of the promises he made to citizens in 2023 that there would be no more marking of January 9th, just as nothing has come of the promises made to citizens during his inaugural speech in the garden of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, that he came to Bosnia and Herzegovina to make it a homeland for all its citizens.

The fact that the High Representative praises those who relativize the dangers of denying the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, considering the issue of unconstitutional and illegal marking of January 9th as the entity day of RS as peripheral, speaks volumes about his priorities. The High Representative bears key responsibility for what the authorities of the RS entity are doing regarding the implementation of discrimination against Bosniaks and the endangerment of the security of Bosniaks in this entity, which includes the marking of the unconstitutional January 9th.

Annex VII provides for return without any form of discrimination; we are experiencing systemic discrimination, and the High Representative acts as if nothing is happening. On the other hand, he visits Zagreb and praises those who seek a solution for the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina tailored to the HDZ, while HDZ representatives attend the marking of the unconstitutional and illegal January 9th as the entity day of RS.

Due to all of the above, I believe that the High Representative intentionally misled the public by saying that January 9th would no longer be marked as the entity day of RS, and that he intentionally neglects his obligations related to Annex VII of the Dayton Peace Agreement, on whose implementation he is not working or insisting, thus he can be considered co-responsible for the implementation of systemic discrimination against Bosniaks in this entity – said Salkić.
