Salkić: BiH institutions should say whether they are able to protect us

(Patria) - Bearing in mind the threats made by the Minister of Interior of the RS entity, I demand and expect from the competent state authorities to announce whether they can guarantee the safety of all citizens in this part of our homeland, said Ramiz Salkić, a delegate in the NSRS.

The Vice President of the Party of Democratic Action and the only delegate of that party in the National Assembly of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity of RS recalled historical experiences that "teach us that when officials of the Serbian people declare Serbs endangered, persecution of Bosniaks and genocide follow, as was the case after the same qualifications were made in the 1990s by Serbian representatives in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, after which the persecution of Bosniaks and genocide followed".

"The announcement of the engagement of the RS MUP and dramatic changes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as announced by the Minister of the RS MUP, bring additional unrest and distrust among Bosniaks in this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Especially if we bear in mind that today's RS MUP has never distanced itself from parts of the RS MUP that were convicted for participation in the genocide against Bosniaks, which represents a justified suspicion of the good intentions of RS MUP members towards Bosniaks in this entity.

I call on the OSA and other agencies to announce to the public their assessments of the security situation in light of the announcements and threats of destabilization made these days by holders of key positions in the government of this entity.

The public, and especially we Bosniak returnees to this entity, potentially the most vulnerable category of the population in Bosnia and Herzegovina, have the right to know what the real security situation is and what can be expected if the announced threats of RS entity officials come true," Salkić stated.
