Salkić to Dodik: It is untrue that Bosniaks live freely in RS

The Vice-President of the National Assembly of RS, Ramiz Salkić, reacted to the statements of the president of the BiH entity RS, as reported by the media, in which Milorad Dodik states that "no Bosniak is endangered in RS, there is no violence, especially ethnically motivated, people live freely and organize their lives without any endangerment", reports the Patria News Agency.

In response to these claims, Vice-President Salkić states that Milorad Dodik cannot claim that Bosniaks in the BiH entity RS have rights, live freely and organize their lives without any endangerment, because he personally, and as the holder of the presidential office, does everything to violate these rights and constantly insults and humiliates Bosniaks with his statements and actions.

- This is supported by devastating statistical data according to which, in the Government of the BiH entity RS, out of 15 ministries, 25 administrative organizations, six directorates, and the General Secretariat, only 134, or 2.66 percent, of the total 5,029 employees are Bosniaks. In all municipalities in the BiH entity RS, 250, or 4.7 percent, of the total 5,264 employees are Bosniaks. In primary schools, only 534, or 4.57 percent, of the total 11,671 employed teaching and non-teaching staff are Bosniaks. In the secondary education system, 91 Bosniaks are employed, which is 1.8 percent of the total 4,969 employees - Salkić states in a letter to Dodik.

It is further stated that it is a complete untruth that Bosniaks live freely today and organize their lives when we are all witnesses to the years-long struggle of parents of Bosniak children for the right to education in their mother tongue - the Bosnian language in Vrbanjci, Konjević Polje, and other places in the RS entity.

- As a reminder, despite several attempts to discuss this with the president of the BiH entity RS, the parents of Bosniak children, whose rights are brutally violated, have not managed to reach him. On the other hand, President Dodik has daily encouraged others not to allow the constitutionally and legally guaranteed right to introduce national subjects for the Bosnian language into schools - Salkić further says.

And finally, among other things, Salkić states "that Bosniaks are doing as well in the BiH entity RS as Dodik claims, he, as president, would be in Potočari on July 11 and pay his respects to all victims of the genocide in Srebrenica, which is the least he can do to create an environment where equal rights are available to all".
