Salkić: Dodik will not stop, does not know if Izetbegović visited returnees

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Vice President of the BiH entity Republika Srpska Ramiz Salkić said that he officially filed a criminal complaint against the organization of the celebration of the unconstitutional "Day of RS".

He also said that the Prosecutor's Office of BiH has an obligation to react.

He added that not only are the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina being violated, but hundreds of thousands of KM, budget money, are being spent.

 They are spending it from various sources, it certainly ranges between half a million and one million KM - said Salkić, appearing on the show N1.

He also believes that the people in RS are not in a mood for celebration, and holds Milorad Dodik, member of the BiH Presidency and president of the SNSD, responsible for the entire situation.

- Several thousand people work in the administrative center of the Government, all those people had to come with their families. Behind all of this stands Milorad Dodik - said Salkić.

Answering a question about the role and responsibility of the Ministry of Interior of RS, Salkić emphasized:

- What do you expect from a Ministry that is a follower of a police force whose members have been convicted in The Hague. All crimes, or almost all, against camp inmates in Prijedor were carried out by police officers. That song and parade show that nothing has changed. That parade and song are the best indicator that such a ministry of interior should not exist, such a police force cannot provide security for me, Bosniaks, or Croats.

Speaking about the expectations of citizens, Salkić said that they should not expect anything, but rather demand that everyone do their job, that the Prosecutor's Office prosecute "every single member who sang like that and whoever ordered them to sing like that".

Among other things, he stated that he calls on citizens to "be cautious, be responsible, force institutions to do their job, not stop with protests, letters, objections, they will at some point have to start doing their job".

Salkić also spoke about the apology.

- An apology makes sense when you do something unintentionally. We have an apology from a mayor who prides himself on bringing a Christmas log into the city administration, which should be a place for both Bosniaks and Croats - said Salkić.

Speaking about the incident in Janja, Salkić asked what kind of celebration it is when you threaten another and those who are different.

- Why would you insult people near a mosque, why provoke people when you are celebrating your holiday? - asked Salkić

Salkić also commented on the removal of a Christmas greeting card in Bužim.

- We must be tolerant, it does not bother me if it is placed two meters in front of my house - he added.

Asked whether SDA leader Bakir Izetbegović visited returnees in those places where incidents occurred after the recent events, Salkić stated that he does not know if Izetbegović went to visit anyone, he cannot say whether he did or did not. He added that during his own visit to returnees, he gained the impression that people are afraid.

Asked why there were no representatives of the HDZ in Banja Luka yesterday, Salkić said that everyone has the right to come.

Speaking about the sanctions imposed by the USA, Salkić stated that he hopes for sanctions from the EU and the United Kingdom.

- Only then would sanctions have an effect. I hope for sanctions against companies. They are necessary because certain institutions in BiH are not ready to do the job for which they receive salaries. If we had punished all those who worked against the state, we would not be in this situation, but would be a far happier and better society - said Salkić.

Asked whether he expects any SDA officials to end up on the sanctions list, Salkić replied:

- In BiH, politically, everyone has cooperated with everyone. People who are under sanctions should distance themselves, but you cannot expect the PDA to dismiss Kukić the way the SDA dismissed Amir Zukić.

He also said that Dodik will not stop, knowing the current political situation in RS.

Speaking about last night's arrest in Ilidža, where three arrested individuals were singing nationalist songs in a bar, Salkić said it was good that they were arrested.

- They came there to provoke and cause physical contact, and we have these provocations in other places as well. We have now witnessed Gacko, Foča, Doboj, Prijedor, which was recorded, but what about what was not recorded. The situation of the people is very difficult, I fear that in these larger cities people are not aware of it - he added.

Asked whether he can tell returnees in RS, Bosniaks and Croats, and even Serbs, that they can sleep peacefully, Salkić replied that "the atmosphere is such that no one in BiH can sleep peacefully."
