Šaljić asks Mijatović: Why does Sarajevo Canton not allow the construction of the 'Ljiljan' monument on Ivan Sedlo?

(Patria) - In the continuation of the session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, under item 10, Draft Law on Support for Investments of Strategic Importance for the Economy of Sarajevo Canton, a representative of the Party for BiH in the KS Assembly asked questions related to concessions on Ivan Sedlo, but also the issue of constructing the Ljiljan monument in the same area.

“Since we are on the topic of concessions, we have a concession on Ivan Sedlo (wind farm, editor's note), if I had the opportunity to ask, I would ask what is the benefit for Sarajevo Canton from this concession. What revenue did KS have from the concession fee and from the regular fee. We have leased 600 or 700 thousand square meters under concession, let's see those benefits,” Šaljić asked the Minister of Economy of KS, Zlatko Mijatović.

He then added: “And since we are on the topic of that concession, and we have almost given one to Monti on Igman (decision pending from the Legal Affairs Office, editor's note), why, minister, is 200 square meters a problem on Ivan Sedlo, and why are you not giving consent to veteran associations to build the Ljiljan memorial,” Šaljić asked.

“We can give 600, 700 thousand, but we cannot give 200 square meters to the people who defended Ivan Sedlo against the VRS in 1992 and against the HVO in 1993. This has been dragging on for years, I think you are not the only one to blame, there is also the Urban Planning Department of the Hadžići Municipality, Sarajevo Forests, but it is still your area, spatial planning,” Šaljić pointed out.

Finally, he announced that 32 veteran associations will address the representatives in the KS Assembly because they cannot build the Ljiljan memorial at the mentioned location.
