Šaljić on the ruling coalition in KS: They quickly forgot their promises to citizens and stumbled at the first hurdle

(Patria) - Amidst a sea of conclusions, it somehow escaped the media and the public that the KS Assembly did not adopt the conclusion on depoliticizing the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Police Administration of KS, announced today by the cantonal delegate of the Party for BiH, Jasmin Šaljić.

Stressing that it was one of the most important proposals, Šaljić reminded that it was proposed by the Party for BiH Club. At the session, delegates from the opposition supported it, as did several from the majority - Samir Avdić, Sanela Klarić, Arijana Memić, and Miomirka Melank. Others abstained.

What exactly did that proposed conclusion state?

"The Government of Sarajevo Canton and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton are tasked to initiate amendments to the Law on Internal Affairs and the Law on Police Officers as soon as possible, which will 'depoliticize' the Ministry of Internal Affairs of KS and the Police Administration, as well as all other bodies and entities within the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Police Administration.

In a way that prohibits the appointment of persons holding political office or who have held political office, persons who are politically active in political parties, parties, and organizations or have been politically active in political parties, parties, and organizations, as well as persons appointed on behalf of political parties to legislative or executive authorities, to expert teams and all other working bodies.

In this way, the politicization of security issues will be prohibited, and the weakening of the professionalism, independence, and integrity of police bodies will be prevented."

Šaljić points out that the question now arises as to what happened to the campaign promises of the Trojka parties regarding the fight against various octopuses and the privatization of institutions, depoliticization of institutions, etc.

"They quickly forgot their promises to citizens and stumbled at the first hurdle! Who will they point fingers at now?", added Šaljić.
