Salihović: Approved funds will strengthen prosecutorial capacities

After the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at yesterday's session, made a decision to approve funds for the reconstruction of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Special Police facility and the construction of an additional floor, for the accommodation of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the planned amount of around 3.8 million BAM, the Prosecutor's Office thanks the Council of Ministers for understanding, support and trust in the process of strengthening the capacities of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was announced from the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports the Patria news agency.

Also, we extend our gratitude to the EU Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, for the approved funds for the construction of a new building near the current facility, in the amount of around 1.4 million euros, which will fully equip and accommodate the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in appropriate capacities in line with the institution's needs.

Also, within the projects of the EU Delegation, we thank them for approving funds for 5 new off-road vehicles, as well as a special refrigerated truck and an X-ray machine for the analysis of exhumed remains.

It is also important to note that the approved engagement of personnel within the IPA project is also of significant assistance in the work of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

With the construction of the mentioned facilities, the problem of accommodation for employees and capacities of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be completely resolved, and in this way, space will also be freed up for more adequate accommodation of the capacities of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the current building.

We thank the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the EU Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina for their support, trust and understanding of the needs for strengthening prosecutorial capacities, and we will certainly invite the competent representatives of the institutions to lay the cornerstone for the construction of the facility.

Strengthening capacities will certainly help achieve even better results in the future, states the announcement signed by the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Goran Salihović.
