US Warns Republika Srpska Leadership: Refrain from Further Destabilization and Inflammatory Rhetoric!

(Patria) - The United States is determined to promote our interests in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Our commitment to the Dayton Peace Agreement and a stable and secure Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has lasted for thirty years, is unwavering, stated the US Embassy in BiH this evening.

"We are deeply concerned by last night's signing of unconstitutional and anti-Dayton laws recently adopted by the National Assembly of Republika Srpska.

To be clear - this is a deliberate provocation of the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina and poses a direct threat to the stability and security of BiH and the strategic interests of the US.

To all political leaders, especially those behind these decisions, we say this: refrain from engaging in further destabilization and inflammatory rhetoric.

Engage in constructive and responsible political dialogue. Support BiH's democratic institutions and uphold the rule of law. And do what you can to de-escalate political tensions. The citizens you serve deserve nothing less.

The United States firmly supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of BiH and its path towards full integration into the Euro-Atlantic community of nations," added the statement from the US Embassy in Sarajevo.
