USA: Gunman opens fire at military medical center, fatalities reported

Two people were killed in a shooting that occurred at a military medical center in Texas, in the United States, American media reported, according to the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

The shooting took place on Tuesday afternoon at a clinic where former American soldiers are treated at Fort Bliss military base in El Paso. This was confirmed by the base commander, Major General Stephen Twitty.

The person who carried out the attack is dead, as is one other person from the base. Details about the attacker are unknown, as is how they carried out the attack.

Soldiers returning from war zones, some suffering from post-traumatic stress, are treated at this clinic.

This is not the first time that former American soldiers, returning from various war zones around the world, have killed their colleagues. In April 2014, an American soldier killed three and wounded 16 people at Fort Hood military base in Texas. Five years earlier, at the same base, Major Nidal Hasan killed 13 people and wounded more than 30, reports NAP.
