Now everyone will kneel before him: Future BIA chief Gašić a saint on a fresco

The likeness of Bratislav Gašić, former Minister of Defence of Serbia, has been visible since yesterday on a fresco in the Church of Saint John, on Bagdala hill above Kruševac, the construction of which Gašić paid for, reports the Patria news agency.

The likenesses of the former minister and his brother Boban are located, as is customary when it comes to the founders of the temple, right next to the likeness of the saint to whom the church is dedicated. In this case, it is Saint John the Baptist, writes "Blic".

The construction of the temple began at the end of March 2015.

The Church of Saint John the Baptist in Kruševac, whose founders are Bratislav Gašić and his brother, was consecrated in October 2015 by Serbian Patriarch Irinej. On that occasion, the Serbian Orthodox Church awarded them the Order of King Milutin.

Due to a statement that he "likes female journalists who kneel easily," Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić dismissed him in December 2015.

In Serbia, one of the most current topics is the selection of a new head of the BIA (Security Information Agency), and Gašić is considered the favorite.

The head of the BIA is appointed by Prime Minister Vučić, and this agenda item could appear at the next session of the Serbian government.
