With Chollet also arrived Escobar, meetings with BiH politicians and members of the BiH Presidency

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Advisor to the U.S. State Department Derek Chollet, Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the State Department Gabriel Escobar and the U.S. Ambassador Eric Nelson arrived today at the Sarajevo Hotel Marriott, N1 reports.

Chollet will stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina until November 17, and the reason for his visit is to express the support of the United States of America for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of BiH and to call on the country's leaders to engage in constructive dialogue.

Chollet arrived in the country with Escobar, who a few days ago told BiH citizens that his country will never support unilateral activities that would jeopardize the Dayton Peace Agreement, that would be unconstitutional, and that would create some kind of problem in BiH.

During his stay in Sarajevo, Advisor Chollet will meet with high state officials to emphasize that functional, democratic institutions at all levels of government are key to a better future for all BiH citizens, both in the Federation of BiH and the Republika Srpska, as well as in the Brčko District.

He will convey a firm message that any attempt to undo 26 years of peace and progress, by withdrawing from state institutions, could undermine the Dayton Peace Agreement, create difficulties for citizens, and be a major disincentive for investors and a source of serious concern for the international community.
